Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney Cruise Lines are actually among dozens that have extended the cancelation of sailings from North America through October thirty one. The cruise cancelations had previously been through Sept. fifteen.

As per Business Insider, the sail day extension comes amid multiple outbreaks of COVID 19 aboard several of the earliest cruises to set sail after the pandemic forced closures across the business.

Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) said Wednesday that the pandemic has had a “crushing impact” on the business but the voluntary suspension of cruises was “proactive activity (that) additional demonstrates the cruise industry’s commitment to public health and willingness to voluntarily suspend businesses in the fascination of public health and safety, as has happened twice prior.”

Carnival Cruise Line designed the following announcement Wednesday, expressing “If situations in the U.S. transition and quite short, modified sailing are actually doable, the business could consider an earlier restart.”
